Thanks to all who responded about Medela's DoubleEase pump. A summary (and
remember, I've had no experience myself):

It sounds okay *as a Saturday night special*, which is what it was built to
be. It's not a working mother's pump, but because it double pumps, some
people will try to use it as that - or more - and be disappointed. For
occasional use, it's perhaps comparable to two mini-electrics. It
alternates suction on left and right, which some may find annoying and
others will not. It's probably "overpackaged" - comes with a case that
makes it seem like a bargain PNS, which it is not. But a bargain "two
mini-electrics used simultaneously"? Perhaps, tho some get little milk with
it while getting plenty with a lactina. Not made for longevity. If a mom
thinks she'll be going back to work with this baby or a subsequent one, or
thinks she's going to be pumping more than occasionally, she's probably
ahead to buy a PNS or Purely Yours.
