        I recently had a native Japanese mother with inverted nipples.  This was
her 2nd baby.  She came into the hospital with a device to evert her nipple
from Japan.  It worked like a charm.  It looks like a miniature bicycle horn
breastpump.  Mom can truly use it one handed.  I was able to locate it
online and it can be seen here: http://www.galtak.com/breastfeed.htm about
3/4 of the way down the page on the left.  It is called a "nipple puller".
This is what they say on the web page.

Beware, there are many  products on this page that LCs would not find a good
idea but I found this little device to be quite intriguing.  This is the
same company who makes the Pigeon nipple that Barb Whitehead inquired about
here on Lactnet on June 19, 1999.  Several pigeon nipples can be seen on
another page from the same company:

nipple not shown on this page that is used for cleft palate babies.  It may
be the one they say "Not Shown B345: Silicon Nipples with wings $5.69
(0.06lbs" about.

I found this page: from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
http://www.choa.org/library/craniofacial/cleft/feeding.shtml and they
describe a pigeon nipple used for cleft palates which is what Barb
originally inquired about back in '99.

on that page they say:
"The Pigeon nipple has a hard side that is placed at the roof of the mouth
and a soft side placed on top of the tongue. No suction is needed to express
formula, just compression of the tongue."

Always trying to keep up, I'd appreciate other's comments on these products.
