Actually the old Cetra recording of Paisiello's "Barber" shows it to be
quite a charming work.  Lindoro sings his introductory serenade to Rosina
("Saper bramate, bella mio nome...") to a mandolin obbligato--it's somewhat
maddening from the musical point of view that she slams the door (or
perhaps it's the window) shut before he can finish the third verse.
