I do not dislike FD, in fact I like and admire him but sometimes I
think he is too rational.  I prefer singers who "just sing" like Prey
and Wunderlich.  BTW, I asked the question for the favourtie Winterreise
on the Lieder-List, too.  There Hotter/Moore is No.  1 (8 mentions),
followed by Fischer-Dieskau/Moore (6), then Fassbaender/Reimann and
Fischer-Dieskau/Brendel (5).  A third FD version (with Demus) got 4
mentions.  So the "experts" know that FD is a Lieder god.
