Pianist Joshua Pierce To Perform Two Concerts With David Amos In San Diego
Gershwin Concerto in F and Beethoven Concerto #4 on Both Programs

Pianist Joshua Pierce will perform two concerts with conductor David Amos
and the Tifereth Israel Community Orchestra of San Diego on January 21 and
23, at, respectively, First United Methodist Church of Chula Vista and
Tifereth Israel Synagogue in San Diego.  The complete venue information
and concert times are as follows:

Sunday, January 21, 2001 - 7:00 pm, First United Methodist Church of Chula
Vista, Pasero Ranchero, East H Street, Chula Vista Admission by donation

Tuesday, January 23, 2001 - 7:30 pm, Cohen Social Hall, Tifereth Israel
    Synagogue, 6660 Cowles Mountain Blvd., San Diego
    Admission: $10

The program for both concerts will be the Ward-Steinman Millennium Fanfare,
Brahm's Academic Festival Overture, Beethoven's Concerto No. 4 in G Major
for Piano and Orchestra and Gershwin's Concerto in F for Piano and
Orchestra, the last two works featuring Mr. Pierce.

Joshua Pierce has given many important recital, chamber, orchestral and
festival performances throughout North America, South America, Mexico,
Europe, Russia and Asia.  A noted interpreter of contemporary music and a
prolific recording artist with numerous premieres, Mr. Pierce has recorded
internationally acclaimed CDs for Wergo, Carlton Classics/IMP, Koch
International, Sony Classics, Mode, Premiere, Labor, Vox, MMC and Helicon,
both as a soloist and with Dorothy Jonas as the Pierce/Jonas Piano Duo.
He has given the first New Jersey performance of the complete and restored
Rhapsody in Blue and Duke Ellington's Piano Concerto and the first
performances of Gershwin's masterpiece in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico with
the Jalisco Philharmonic.  He will also present the first performances of
the Gershwin/Ellington program in Eastern Europe in Bratislava, Slovak
Republic in March 2001.  He has presented the first performance of John
Cage's Sonatas and Interludes for Prepared Piano and works of Ives and
Wyschnegradsky in Russia and the Republic of Tartarstan.  Joshua Pierce is
a noted and respected artist/teacher with special training technique in the
rehabilitation of injured pianists.
