I actually have some firsthand experience with Cala, since they will be
releasing our first CD in the fall. What I really like about Cala is the
fact that they are led by a real, working musician, conductor Geoffrey
Simon. In our discussions here in Mallorca with him about the CD he has
shown himself to be smart and original in his programming and marketing.

Their biggest features are a series of recordings featuring the principal
players of the NY Phil, and another series entitled "The London Sound".
The latter features recordings of massed ensemble -- 24 cellos, 20 horns,
piles of violas, schools of violins, forests of double-basses, etc. Some
fun and interesting combinations. They have had some success with these
series, the "Latin Cello" album, 2 dozen cellists playing Piazzola,
Villa-Lobos and other Latin composers, has sold more than 20,000 units.
Apart from these projects they have many interesting releases and a very
impressive artist roster.

We're very pleased to be associated with them, and have started talking
about some very interesting future projects.
