Hi fellow Lactnetters, I have spent the past few days going through the list
of breastpumps that were for auction on ebay and notifying ebay of pumps
described as used. According to Ron T.W. Ebay Community Watch Team Member,
breastpumps are only allowed on ebay if they are "new and in the original
box". As a result of my notifications there have been over 30 breastpump
auctions that ebay has stopped over the past few days. I have now written to
ebay and asked them to stop allowing breastpumps for sale on ebay at all. I
feel that if these sellers realize that if they advertise the pumps as used
they won't be allowed, then they will just not mention they are used. I
would think that if 2000 of my closest friends who happen to be breastfeeding
professionals (haha) also wrote ebay and also sited the hazards of selling
breastpumps they may stop this practice. Anyone want to join me? Go to
www.ebay.com. You will find an area that you can make suggestions to the
site! Happy writing! Claudia Globerger RN/IBCLC
