Dear Friends:
The cognitive dissonance in articles like this is astounding. ``More
aggressive and more successful management of twin pregnancies may be
accounting for part of the elevation in the preterm rate.''
How can one put the terms "successfull management" in the same sentence
as "elevation in preterm rate"? No one would ever dream that mothers
receiving intensive prenatal care are at higher risk for problems, because
the constant surveillance elevates their catacholamine levels so their
placentas aren't perfused well. In addition, being examined for risks and
potential hazards at every visit robs pregnancy of its joy. Any other mammal
stressed during pregnancy will miscarry, or kill its young. Forget
breastfeeding easily.
    Warmly,
