yeah, and in not so subtle ways, too, sometimes. last year there was an
article in the new york times (sorry don't have the date i only got to read
part of it) about funding for research, and it revealed that doctors are paid
huge amounts of money sometimes, and often more depending on how many
participants they get (that is, if you get 20, you get $300 each, if you get
30 you get $400 each and so on). the amount paid to the participants is often
the same as the amount paid to the doctor.

AND the companies that fund the research do such helpful things such as have
professional writers who crunch the data and write the studies. isn't that
nice!
