< Barbara Wilson-Clay has asked for advice; the mother's strep culture
came
back positive, but "not enough" to make a diagnosis of infection in her
breast. >>

Is there a specific protocol written (it should be universal) for collecting
mother's milk for microscopic testing ?
I don't think that I would ask a lab to run a test on mother's milk without
letting them know how the specimen was collected if it is not detailed in
the lab manuals. I have read posts of Tom Hale that state his residents in
his teaching hospital run the tests. If this protocol is available and
reliable can this be shared with the rest of us practitioners ? This should
be a standard test.
