Hello, my name is Eugeni Rumiantsev, I'm a cellist (16 years old) It's
impossible but Misha Maisky is my favourite cellist, I really think him
if not the very best but one of the very best cellist in our world of
the times. He is not only great sound and brilliant technic cellist with
unusual thinking about music, He is a such musician who gave me really
best understanding of all the music he played (he had played all the cello
repirtoire and a very big quantity of transcriptions from violin (Bloch:
"Nigun"), vocal (Thaikovsky:"Lensky Aria"), piano (Chopin, Bach Etc). He
is maybe one of that musicians who are giving the new life to music and
fight with usual "right and very dark, simply dull playing" And I thing
that that is why a lot of people call them "performers without rules,
traditions and wery dumb feeling of music"- and other stupids. I think
them just not understandable people who can listen just "usual standard
traditional playing without any fantasy and new searchs in music pieces".
Well, they just cant understand such things and we can just suffer for
them, because we know that truth is in future and future is in them:
Misha Maisky, Gidon Kremer, Martha Argerich, Alena Baeva and me - Eugeni
Rumiantsev. I love you Alena! If someone has to say something about this
madness - write to the list, or to me [log in to unmask]
