Dear Robert, first of all, let me say that your knowledge of classical
music is a bit far from being in a "gappy state".  Like yourself, I also
have a "well-paied job" since two years, so I have start to buy CDs more
often.  I have now a collection of more than 600 titles and I have to
confess that are some of your most haves that I never listened to.  My
advise would be for you to start trying other pieces from the composers you
now like and maybe buying a magazine that help you listen samples of other
music.  That's what I did with very good results.  Of course, several
