A memorial and celebration of the life of JIM DEETZ will be held on his
birthday, 
Thursday, February 8th, 2001 on the Berkeley campus of the University of
California.  

Please join us at 4:00 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Faculty Club for the
memorial. 
At approximately 6:00 p.m. we will adjourn to the atrium of the 
Archaeological Research Facility to celebrate with food, drink, 
music, and fond reminiscences, his relentlessly giving spirit and his 
"cantankerousness and generally enthusiastic grumpiness."
