I heard about a pianist and a composer.  His name is Sigismond Thalberg.
He lived between 1812-1871.  He rivaled Liszt and wrote showy piano pieces.

Do you any info about him? Do you any title of his output compositions?
Is there any CD contains some of his works for piano? Do you know a book
or reference about him?
