Although Mozart is one of my favorite composers, I can think of one basic
reason why a listener might not appreciate his music.  I'll phrase this as
if I was the listener:

   "Mozart's music is far too smooth and facile for my tastes.  I much
   prefer music of greater angularity which is more challenging to delve
   into and discover its inner spirit.  So, I tend to tire of Mozart
   works over time; they can't possibly hold my interest."
