I was informed when I joined LACNET to be aware and anticipate the
possiblility that non-BF-friendly persons might be lurking behind the scenes.
So before I try to stay away for a while....I must share the following:

1) LURKERS: Much of my research has been collated and stored in a variety of
locations with a number of different people in paper and electronic form. So
if anyone wants it, you won't get it all.

2) The medical literature is clear....the 2+ Billion Dollar formula industry
will some day...and maybe sooner than they think...be forced to explain their
avoidance of the direct reported relationships between different formulas and
human disease...and their actions in intefering with BF at the very time and
place it should start.

3) SOY formula directly increases Diabetes at least in Juveniles:

MEDICAL MYTH: FF is Better=====>1986 "Twice as many under age 15 diabetic
children received SOY containing formula in infancy as compared to
controls...and...Incidence of positive thyroid antibodies was 2 1/2 times
hiher in formula-fed diabetc children than in BF".

MEDICAL MYTH: Chubby FF babies are healthier...and will be
healthier=====>1990 "Early weight gain appears to be a risk factor for
development of Type 1 diabetes" "Lower weight gain in BF compared to non-BF
may help explain protective effect of BF against Type 1 diabetes observed in
SEVERAL studies"

MEDICAL MYTH: Diabetes is NOT preventable====>1991
........Risk of IDDM was decreased among exclusively BF for 3 months
........Risk of IDDM was decreased among part-time BF for 7 months
........Risk of IDDM was increased among FF before 4 months.
