Michael Woolridge describes flow rate problems as a reason some babies will
suck in an overly aggressive way, applying prolonged negative pressure to
the nipple tissue.  Sustained negative pressure on skin produces bruising.
This is what hickeys or love bites are.  Suck long and hard enough and the
skin begins to break down.
