My daughter at college was part of a group discussing various issues and
"extended" breastfeeding came up in the conversation.  One girl said she
knew someone who breastfed a child until it was three years old (imagine
that!) and that she thought it was really disgusting.  Miranda said "I
nursed until I was four years old, and my little brother nursed until he was
5.5 years old.  How do you think I got my scholarship?"  Miranda has a full
4-year academic scholarship to the expensive private school she attends.
The girl who had made the derogatory comment about "extended" breastfeeding
was reportedly speechless.
