My story is happy and sad.

I came from an anti-musical family. I was intrigued with music and
its instruments when I heard my junior high band. I joined my junior high
band. My high school band was a very good one, and we played a lot of good
music. Beethoven, Schubert, Persichetti. I came to like my band director
a lot and made friends in the band I have to this day. One of them put me
on to record collecting. The story goes from there.

With the devastation of so many public school music programs, I wonder how
many people, raised in families like mine, can repeat this story.

I don't wonder why classical music is in trouble.
