A few years ago, PBS broadcast a "Battle of the Bands", featuring the
orchestra drawn from the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and
the Academy of Ancient Music. However, I recall that despite some good
natured ribbing, it was a congenial affair, with good music making all
around. It certainly didn't have the undercurrent of nastiness that a
Zuckerman-infected Battle would be likely to have, whatever smiles would
show on the stage.

I have heard similar comments to Zuckerman's, BTW, from James Galway,
though not as personally nasty. But then only recently have heard of him
performing (recording?) works with several artists who have specialized in
period instrument performance. Folks do sometimes move on and make peace
with their artistry.
