For any of you who enjoy Argerich's playing --

Argerich is headlining a benefit recital March 25 at Carnegie Hall, to
include solo works. The last solo recital she gave in the U.S. was in
1981, at Carnegie Hall.

One half will be solo works by Bach, Chopin, and Profokiev.

In the other half she'll be joined by the Juilliard Quartet in the
'Schumann Quintet in Eb' and by Nelson Freire in the Ravel 'La Valse.'
The Carnegie Hall announcement on Tuesday (the odd layout of which could
be read to imply that Freire would be the soloist) adds "Remainder of
program to be announced."

It's confirmed that it's Argerich who is slated to perform the solo
works announced. There is a benefit reception following the concert,
an additional fundraiser for the John Wayne Cancer Institute.

I hear tickets are selling fast. Announcement was made by Carnegie Hall
yesterday.
