No, not the kind you eat! When I was quite young there was a conductor
who was called (on UK Decca) Pierino Gamba and who made an impressive
(debut?) LP of Rossini overtures and accompanied a concerto recording
.....etc.?
Later (when he grew up?) he became Piero Gamba.
Now I see there is a conductor working in UK, with one of the BBC
orchestras, called Rumon Gamba.
Does anyone know if this is the same family?
