For what it is worth... I get 1000 ml IV bags of 0.9% NaCl from a mail order
place to give subcutaneous fluids to my cat who has chronic renal failure.
When I got the fluids from the vet, they cost $20.00 per bag.  I get them
from the mail order place for $3.00 a bag.  I did have to have an Rx from
the vet to send to the mail order place, but I *think* (and may be wrong)
that the Rx was needed only for the needles and not for the saline. You
could call Direct Medical at 1-800-316-4993.
