Gentlemen: Is it possible to maintain the "highest standards of conduct both
personally and professionally" when you expect your staff to devote long
hours...to meet often unrealistic deadlines?  I recognize long hours are
simply one of the unwritten rules of consultants, however, expectations for
the highest standards of conduct for personal behavior may be extending your
control a bit too far...

Landmark Archaeological & Environmental Services, Inc. is currently seeking
several qualified, self-motivated individuals to join our professional staff
to perform archaeological investigations for various construction projects
throughout Indiana, Kentucky, and the Midwest. The successful applicants
must work well alone or with other professionals, be able to travel
extensively, devote long but flexible hours to meet often unrealistic
deadlines, and always maintain the highest standards of conduct both
personally and professionally. We have immediate openings for a Principal
Investigator, Project Directors, and Archaeological Technicians.

Permanent Position: Principal Investigator

Responsible for the management of Phase I, II and III archaeological
projects and personnel; overseeing the analysis of the artifacts and the
compilation of data into report form, and coordinating with various clients
and government agencies.

Minimum qualifications:

1.
        A M.A., M.S. or Ph.D. (preferred) in Anthropology/Archaeology or a
related field.
2.      Three (3) years of experience in Anthropology/Archaeology or a
related field, consisting of at least two (2) years as a supervisor in
archaeological survey and excavation and one (1) year of laboratory
cataloging and analysis and the preparation of a research-oriented
monograph, thesis, or dissertation.
3.      An additional two (2) years of supervisory experience and research
in Midwestern prehistoric or historic archaeology and archival research.
4.      The ability to complete archival research, reconnaissance, testing,
laboratory analysis, site forms, archaeological reports and other related
work as required in a timely manner.
5.      Working knowledge of computers.

Permanent Position: Archaeologist 1/Field Director

Responsible for the management of Phase I and II field projects and
personnel, overseeing the analysis of the artifacts and the compilation of
data into report form. Is eligible to submit draft and final reports for
field projects and may manage Phase III projects under the supervision of a
Principal Investigator.

Minimum qualifications:

1.
        A M.A. or M.S. in Anthropology/Archaeology or a related field.
2.
        One (1) year of supervisory experience in archaeological survey,
excavation, or laboratory techniques.
3.
        One (1) year of experience at the Master's degree level in
Midwestern prehistoric or historic archaeology and archival research.
4.      The ability to complete archival research, reconnaissance, testing,
laboratory analysis, site forms, archaeological reports and other related
work as required in a timely manner.
5.      Working knowledge of computers.

Temporary Position: Archaeological Technicians

Responsible for performing a range of field activities, including surface
reconnaissance, shovel probing, unit and feature excavation, mapping and
limited record keeping.

Minimum qualifications:

1.
        A B.A. or B.S. in Anthropology/Archaeology or a related field
2.
        One (1) year of experience in archaeological survey, excavation, or
laboratory techniques.
3.
Completion of one (1) archaeological field school; or field experience
equivalent to one (1) archaeological field school; or training in
archaeological field, laboratory, or research methods under the direction of
a qualified professional archaeologist.
