English Porcelain Project
In conjunction with an upcoming article for Chipstone's Ceramics in America
Journal, research in currently being conducted on archaeological assemblages
of 18th-century English porcelain. Preliminary research on Chesapeake
assemblages has identified products of the Liverpool, Bow, Worcester, and
Vauxhall potteries. Images of fragments are being digitally recorded for
inclusion on a cd-rom. Recent excavations on London and Liverpool sites
provide the basis for identification of specific body types and decorative
