I would like to obtain a couple of CDs of Bartok's solo piano music -
already have much of his orchestral & chamber music, including the three
piano concertos (Donahue & Rattle version). The usual recommendation
seems to be Zoltan Kocsis which seems available only in a 4-CD set which
includes the piano concertos; in doing an Amazon search the cycle being
recorded by June de Toth appears to be recommended highly (at least by
the comments on Amazaon?) - looks like she plans to record (or has
completed) all of Bartok's solo piano works on a total of 7 CDs. Would
certainly appreciated opinions on these aforementioned recordings and
any others that compare favorably - thanks in advance.
