The New Grove identifies an Andre Tchaikowsky (b. Warsaw, 1 November 1935)
whose death in Oxford in 1982 was not listed. It also names a Boris
Alexandrovich Chaykovsky (b. Moscow 10 September 1925). It lists no
similarly transliterated composer antedating Peter Ilyich.
