I wrote to Hyperion and they exchanged the CD no problem. However another
one I had on DG could not be exchanged because it had been discontinued.
This is the real worry especially if the disc is part of a set. I wonder
what the record company would do in such a case.
These discs weren't 'bronzed'. They just looked like normal discs in every
respect except that they stopped playing. If bronzed discs are the ones
that have a golden tint to the surface then I have a number of these. One
disc of Debussy piano music has played successfully in that state for 8
years.
