Hi Jeff,
        I would just call the Sept. - Dec. time a preview
rather than an opening... in this way you are being
clear about the expectation  for the public.

        In this way it could set the public up to want to
see what is coming in the future and drive them into
the museum during the initial time... it will also set
them up as supporters of the time when the museum
will reopen and they can have another wonderful
experience.
