Dear colleagues and friends,
As a member of this workshop I strongly invite you to join "The National Research Council's Climate Change Education Goals and Objectives Workshop" that will address the current status of climate change education, broadly defined. It will provide an opportunity for discussion between expert researchers and practitioners in complementary fields that often operate in relative isolation from one another, such as decision making and risk analysis, education, learning and cognitive science, behavioral and environmental economics, public literacy and communication, and physical and natural sciences. The workshop will include expert panel discussions and small group discussions of goals of climate change education; connections between characteristics of climate change education audiences and goals; and strategies to inform various audiences.
The workshop takes place: October 21-22, 2010 at the U.S. Department of Commerce. 14th St. & Constitution Ave., NW Washington, DC.
Registration is required. Please follow the link: http://www8.nationalacademies.org/isc-registration/public/default.asp?event=F1AEA8DF
We are all well aware of the importance that recent work of the NRC has been for the informal science education sector. I am quite confident that the results of this workshop will become another milestone for our field as regarding climate change education.
Hope to see many of you there.
Walter
