        There is a nice and relatively inexpensive chemical reaction which
mimics bioluminescence. It is called a Luminal reaction. This reaction uses
a substance called Luminal solution and .15% hydrogen peroxide. When the two
are mixed they release light energy for about 10-15 seconds. We use this
reaction in our hands on chemistry lab here.

I am creating a discovery/demo cart on Bioluminescence and Fluorescence. We
will have specimens for viewing but am stumped on ideas for hands-on
