Hello,

Can anyone recommend a good pair of industrial headphones?  I typically have
been ordering from T-Scan, but it seems like they might be out of business.
This is a shame, since their headphones had easy-to-clean surfaces, armored
cable, and were a cinch to disassemble for repair.  

As a side note, after trying for months to figure out a way to prevent kids
from snapping the armored cable from our payphone handsets and headphones in
half, I've found a great solution using a breakaway guitar cable called
SnapJack from ZZYZX.  It has a magnetic tip that breaks loose if kids try to
pull too hard.  Quite an ingenious invention!

You have to convert the headphones to mono (since they haven't invented a
stereo version of the cable yet).  I just cut the guitar cable in half,
which uses a thick rubber shielding that flexes easier than steel armored
cable.  The plug fits into a 1/4" jack, specifically a "thick panel" jack
from Switchcraft (#151) that mounts in a beefy 1.5" thick wood panel so kids
can't yank it around.
