ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************

I direct Celebra la Ciencia, a project that combines media (radio,
newspapers) and community outreach to encourage Latino children and families to get more
involved in informal science and health education. The project is active in
five areas (LA, Chicago, Washington State, Albuquerque, Washington, DC) and
has been funded by NSF and NIH. A number of ASTC members, such as the Pacific
Science Center, the California Science Center, the New Mexico Museum of Natural
History, Explora, Chicago Children's Museum, the Science Museum of Virginia,
and others (as well as zoos, aquariums, community centers, universities, and
media) have been involved in the project.

I would enjoy meeting with anyone who is attending the ASTC conference in
Richmond who is interested in the project or who has significant Spanish-language
or bilingual science education exhibits, education, or outreach resources.

Please let me know via email or contact me via my cellphone (202-997-5539) at
the meeting if you are interested.

Thanks very much.
