We used Adobe Dreamweaver to build an interactive information kiosk in our
lobby. It is basically a website run on a local machine (the kiosk
computer). We used a script (which I do not understand) from an existing
kiosk, developed by someone else. It makes the application run in Internet
Explorer while hiding all of the Explorer tool bars. We are able to
incorporate graphics, sound and video using this setup.

Anyone have recommendations for inexpensive or open-source software than can
be used to turn ordinary Windows PCs into simple information kiosks?
