Hi Karen,
We have a Segway i-2 that we use for demonstration purposes on the Floor. Museum Programs full and part-time staff and volunteers over the age of 18 can sign up for training. The age 18 rule is part of our insurance plan. Everyone MUST wear a properly fitted helmet (we have several that are shared-- of course cleaned regularly). We do not allow visitors to ride the Segway (again, insurance) but there is a Segway tour company in Philadelphia for interested visitors. We've found that the Segway demo ends up being more of a roving museum general information booth, though everyone who is trained receives ample information on how the Segway works, its practical applications, and all the FAQ's and stats visitors want to know. Hope this helps, feel free to contact me for more info/tips!
Best,
Liz

> I would like to hear how other organizations use Segways either in a demonstration, or with visitors in general. How do you handle risk/liability? Do your visitors have to wear a helmet or sign a waiver? Any help is most appreciated.
