ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************

For those coming to the ASTC Conference:
The session "Gutless No More- What exhibits should science centers be
doing?" on Saturday at 11:30 is going to be relevant for marketers,
fundraisers and directors as well as exhibits and programs people. The
session has its roots in the "Best Practices in Science Museum Exhibits
Conference" held in April of 2003 with all six speakers having been
attendees at that conference.

In talking about the philosophy of what our exhibits should be we
cannot separate it from what our science centers can and should be. We
are at a critical age; by covering the major science and technology
issues that our planet and civilization face, we have the opportunity
to empower our visitors as problem solvers- heroes for saving our
quality of life, in turn making us heroes, giving compelling reasons
for visitors to come to our centers and funders to fund us. Come to
the session to learn more, and to share thoughts on what we can and
should do.

We have a lot we are trying to squeeze in, please be prompt. We look
forward to seeing you there.
For those that can't attend, we will almost certainly bring the ensuing
discussions to the listserve.
