Hi Luke!
The Oklahoma Museum Network hosts a Steve Spangler Boot Camp at Science Museum Oklahoma nearly every year. Although designed for classroom teachers, it has been an extremely popular workshop for informal educators. It has been VERY well received from the museum attendees. The activities are not designed as a full inquiry investigation, but they are great inquiry starters, and are perfect for quick floor demonstrations. Steve is a captivating speaker and is very good at holding a crowd's attention for the full time. You will leave with lots of ideas, as well as a kit of materials and an activity book. I would highly recommend! Feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions, I am very familiar with the program.

Hello all,

The Steve Spangler Hands-On Science Boot Camp is doing it's 2010 tour
and is coming through my town. It seems geared for formal teachers. Has
anyone from an informal science education institution attended? If so,
I'm curious to hear your opinion of how useful it is to educators
outside of formal classrooms. If you have other recommendations for
professional development, I'd appreciate hearing those as well.

Thank you.
