Janet:

Our Programs staff and volunteers do 'discovery cart' activities
regularly all around our exhibit floors covering many different topics.

The carts work best for smaller demonstration type activities that only
take a few minutes and work best with the guests one on one.  We most
often develop cart activities for our traveling exhibits, rather than
developing a full length 30 minute demonstration for an exhibit that is
only on display a few months.  Staff and volunteers often use the cart
in or near the traveling exhibit area to complement the content in the
exhibit and get visitors excited about what they will see.

We provide training on all the activities, an 'outline' with information
for staff/volunteer use at the cart, and usually a handout for the
visitor to take with them that most often has some sort of related
experiment they may try at home.
