Play the worm(?) song with this...  the ones that crawl in are short and thin, the ones that crawl out are long and stout...

Not sure about your exact theme but how about decomposition of non-animate stuff?  Cardboard box, old couch, old house, etc.  I bring this up because I just had a conversation with someone regarding the decomposition of plastic.  In particular the fallacy that plastic "does not" break down.  In fact we were discussing what would be around still 10 million years on.
