CARE, AAM's audience research and evaluation standing professional committee, is also looking for
session proposals for the 2010 AAM Annual Meeting. Proposals may cover any topic related to
audience research and evaluation, but those relating to the meeting theme are given greater
consideration. Some potential topics that relate directly to the meeting theme include the
following:
• Research and evaluation that describes how the internet, social networks, or other communication
efforts have been used to engage different audiences;
• Research and evaluation that describes how museums have succeeded, or not, in responding to
audiences including minorities, immigrants, and children;
• Evaluations of ways technology, entertainment, or environmental issues have been integrated into
museums; and
• Evaluations that show how museums have succeeded or not succeeded in creating networks with other
museums in the United States and abroad.
The deadline for submitting a CARE-endorsed proposal is Friday, July 10, 2009. While your proposal
does not have to be endorsed by an SPC, it stands a much better chance of being accepted if it has
an endorsement. The AAM website that describes the proposal submission process can be found at:
