Dear Colleagues,

Pacific Science Center is starting a new effort that builds on the
Portal to the Public NSF grant we received last year. The new effort is
the result of a recently completed comprehensive strategic planning
process that engaged a broad diversity of constituents in conversations
spanning nearly a year.

The resulting Vision Statement states Pacific Science Center will be the
premier Northwest destination for personal exploration of science,
inspiring curiosity and igniting wonder among people of all ages and
stages in life. A key element of our plan is to be a highly dynamic, and
accessible, public portal to the exciting scientific discoveries and
technological developments being made by Washington based researchers
and technologists and their collaborators around the globe. In addition
we will actively addressing issues of science and society, by providing
Washington citizens, scientists and policy makers with innovative
opportunities for rich dialogue and debate on current and emerging
science topics relevant to their lives in the Pacific Northwest and as
citizens of the world.

In the next couple months we will hire a Portal to the Public Program
Director to lead this effort. I am presently writing a job description
for the position and would appreciate hearing from anyone who can share
a job description for a position with similar or related
responsibilities.

Thanks for your help.

Dennis
