Hello colleagues,

*At your institution, do you currently have any "immersive" exhibits
(single
exhibits, not entire exhibitions)? *

We are defining an exhibit as *immersive* if it incorporates *any, not
necessarily all*, of the following design characteristics:
    a. *Vertical surround*: Aspects of the exhibit extend over the
visitor's
head or under the visitor's feet. Examples include larger-than-life
walk-through exhibits like the heart at the Franklin institute and
exhibits
that you crawl inside, such as caves and coal mines.
    b. *Horizontal surround*: Aspects of the exhibit extend behind the
visitor's back (literally). Examples include exhibits that you enter
into,
such as a cave, but not exhibits that you walk through, such as a tunnel
at
an aquarium.
    c. *Kinesthetic Involvement*: Enables the use of the visitor's whole
body to navigate/explore the space or to investigate and explore a
phenomenon (this is beyond walking through on a flat floor/stairs or
sitting in a chair). Examples include crawling through a maze or casting
colored shadows of your body on a wall, but not exhibits where visitors
simply walk through a space.
*
We're just looking for a "yes" or "no" response. If you could, please
reply
by January 28th.
*
Thank you very much for your time,

Toni
