we integrated an early version of a related type of product into one of
our exhibitions several years back. ( used three electrode pick ups
across a forehead strap. and linked to a simple painting program ( with
position, paint colour, and brush size being linked back to various
brain wave parameters).. this meant that the visitor didn't need any
training, was very responsive, and showed real differences between users
- these days we might have added a print or email your brain state image
to yourself or your friends, or have created an online social space for
people to "share their thoughts"........

but we didn't..


The challenge we had with it in a lightly supervised setting was keeping
the cabling intact ( keeping it clean and free of hair--to keep people
relaxed about head lice - was a small issue but one we and the public
got over).

leaving the cable/headset as it was resulted in damage/failure of one
type - making it more robust added mass, which resulted in different
failures... but worth looking at again to see how survivable the units
might be in general galleries - certainly a great bit of kit for a
"busk" or demo.
