Hello Beverly,
I have designed a flying magnet module that propels a disk magnet up a
plastic rod. I use it to power the Animated Butterflies and a demonstration
about Newton's Law of Conservation of Momentiun. If you provide your
students a selection of different magnets and let them try different
combinations stacked on the rod they will be amazed at the different
movement out comes. Then use two attracting magnets within the stack to hold
an object, that object will take on the energy at that point. A Great
demonstration of a force and motion interaction - make a stack of 4 magnets
then 3 opposing magnets, then 2 oposing and finally a single magnet. When
power is applies to the bottom magnet each set of magnets move at a
different verlocity. If you think this will work in your program I will
donate a unit and show you how to build more. Roger
