ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Techniquest is based in a 1883 dockside engineering building which exists to
enclose a large travelling crane of the same vintage.

We had the crane reconditioned and now use it for our Forces theme, we hoist
the teacher up whilst showing their weight increase as they go up. The
punchline comes when we ask the class whether they want their teacher back
or not. You can just about see the crane here
http://www.astc.org/resource/planning/index.htm

We also use the elements of the structure itself like Wrought Iron for an
engineering theme.
