I respectfully disagree.  Does an open-ended experience necessarily
encourage the development of musical intelligence as well as
logistical-mathematical intelligence?  I don't think so.  The more an
experience is facilitated the more likely one can approach this, but the
idea that creating an open-ended experience automatically engages all
types
of intelligence is a bit simplistic.

Or ofr a concrete example: I have yet to see anyone develop their
musical
intelligence by utilizing a paper airplane exhibit.  I'm not saying it
can't
ever happen (someone could develop a song about airplanes), but I am
saying
the airplane exhibit is not effective at encouraging it.

Making the exhibit experience open-ended ensures that it will be
multi-intelligence. Give people a challenge and let them solve it in
their
own thinking style - some will talk, some will draw, some with pick up
the
materials provided and build. Perfect.
