Bob,
Also at the LA Natural History Museum, in 2004, was the exhibit "LA:
Light, Motion, Dreams" a great meditative exhibit on the nature of Los
Angeles - it opened in March 2004 and ran till early 2005. (Is this the
same exhibit you mentioned?) Anyway, I remember some especially
effective environmental segments. There was a walkthrough corridor
where, as you entered, you saw the LA River in its pristine form; then
as you walked down the corridor, the view switched to the LA River now.
I also remember a diorama of a suburban LA home, complete with swimming
pool, where a (?) fox stood on the diving board with the family's cat in
its mouth.

And you got to love an exhibit whose gift shop sold both the DVD of
Roman Polanski's 'Chinatown' and a Los Lobos 4-CD box set...

I am developing a listing of science and/or history or natural history
museum exhibitions that use environmental history as the guiding
educational/interpretive framework (earth systems science + culture +
human history).

The best example I have found is Collapse (a temporary exhibition at LA

Natural History several years ago).
Please let me know of any other exhibitions that weave together.

Thank you.
