ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

The list posted seems to include a lot of scientists.

Most of the pioneering energy conversion was done by technical people, not
scientists - the makers of early windmills, watermills, etc. And the
conversion of coal to power in the early industrial revolution was done by
such as Newcomen, Watt, Stephenson etc. Much of the early analysis was by
Sadi Carnot.

Lord Kelvin commented, "Science owes more to the steam engine, that the
steam engine owes to science."

This doesn't help much with the gender or race equality issues, but surely,
the early engineers should get a look-in, shouldn't they?
