Hello all,

The original name box was developed by Joe P. Buckingham (of BSCS I
believe).

There are several modifications of that original cube - with numbers,
hat-mat-cat, and partial words, for instance.
Those were developed by Norm Lederman currently at IIT (Illinois
Institute of Technology) along with Fouad Abd-El-Khalick, Judith
Lederman, and Randy Bell.
If you are able to locate the book "The nature of science in science
education: Rationales and strategies" (1998), edited by William F.
McComas, there is a chapter all about those cubes (Chapter 5).

Hope this is of help!
Gary
