Thank you Stephanie for that wonderful round-up of resources, on providing
lactation support to those who are 2SLGBTQIA+!

To fill it out I'll add links to

(1) the Code of Professional Conduct for IBCLCs, now found at the
newly-created IBCLC Commission, and esp. the expansively-worded 6.3 ...
which makes it an ethical mandate for IBCLCs to provide **inclusive** care:

"6.3 Treat all clients ***equitably without regard to****
ability/disability, gender identity, sexual
orientation, sex, ethnicity, race, national origin, political persuasion,
marital status,
geographic location, religion, socioeconomic status, or age, within the
legal framework of
the respective geo-political region or setting." (emphasis mine)

(2) I also highly commend this free, open-access You Tube recording of a U.
S. Breastfeeding Committee webinar presentation by the incomparable Dr.
Aunchalee Palmquist, "Racism and the Colonial Roots of Gendered Language in
Public Health." It reveals the history of why so much of what we see
and read assumes a binary explanation ... perpetuating the colonizers'
mindset.
